The Purpose of our Activities
It's crystal clear !
We wish to actively promote private companies working in the people transportation
sector who, through their commitment to the Driver Quality Charter, are keen
to guarantee and protect high standards of quality for everyone who uses this
type of service, i.e. the Chauffeur-Driven Service.
In brief, our business has the following objectives:
Informing, Promoting, Monitoring, Assisting, Bringing Together and Supporting.
INFORMING
Informing the public and professionals about the seal of quality and the promises it entails is of course a prime objective. But we need to do much more than simply telling people that such a seal of quality exists.
We also need to provide information about what these quality standards are considered to be. We also need to communicate what these quality standards entail in operational terms, associated requirements and monitoring procedures… And we then need to convince consumers and end-usersof the advantages of using the services of companies who are members of the Charter rather than those who are not…
PROMOTING
Promoting the services provided by members is the most important return given to the commitment of the members of the Driver Quality Charter. An internet communications strategy is now in place to list and position web pages which bring out the contact details of our affiliate members at the top of search lists on all the main search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Alta Vista… In the medium term, and in accordance with growing numbers of affiliate members, more media communication strategies will be implemented to further promote our members’ services in a more focused and sector-based way
ASSISTING
Numerous professionals keen to highlight their qualities are eligible for the Driver Quality Charter. Helping them to implement, quality standards in their operational procedures, as appropriate, is clearly a key objective. Documents, logos, banners… will soon be available to download in our members’ areas as well as advice on how to organise procedures. If breaches of quality standards are uncovered during monitoring processes, advice will be offered to help improve the service provided and to thus meet the promises made.
Providing assistance to our members also allows them to remain up-to-date with regard to their respective preferred domains.
Finally, providing assistance also means tracking technical developments in the various subject areas that are of interest to our members. Whatever technological, commercial, IT or marketing domains they are developing, the wealth of available information and news means it is still difficult to find information pertaining to the personal transport sector. One of our medium-term objectives is to provide this kind of assistance with information available online.
BRINGING TOGETHER
Together we’re stronger! Of course we all want to sing from the same hymn-sheet, under the same seal of quality, and this also gives the public a better perception of our role. This is well understood within many production sectors, including industrial, agricultural and others. Nowadays, there is a large number of seal of quality or “Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée”, which aim to protect the quality of a product against corrupt practices at low prices. Our objective is the same. So it’s clear that the more affiliate members we have joining our activity, the stronger the impact will be, as much on professionals in the sector as on the market. We will thus achieve the ideal of knowing that we are the elite in the largest public service profession.
QUALITY CONTROL
Checking that promises are being kept within operational applications is clearly a measure of legitimacy and gravity. Both the public and professionals will value the quality of checks that are as objective as they are strict. As visitors to this site will see, the detailed promises are as objective as possible. This will make monitoring operational details easier for the quality controller and clearer for the affiliate member. Either the standard is adhered to and applied, or it is not.
SUPPORTING
One of the more long term objectives, and this is also a function of the volume of affiliate members in our charter, is to protect the sector’s interests against institutions. It’s something of a generalisation, but the personal transport sector is under-represented in comparison with the goods transport sector within the various legislating institutions. These problems are peculiar to us, and typical of our sector. Many rules are imposed on us for security reasons, but very few in terms of service. Some European countries have led by example, Portugal among others, but very few impose standards in this sector. Our example, and the volume of members, means we can intervene as a lobbying group when it comes to politicians and institutions, ensuring recognition of quality standards which would benefit the entire profession; this is another of the Charter’s objectives.
